When Jose Henrique Borghi established what is now Mullen Lowe Brasil he had already been on one of the most successful and respected careers in Brazilian advertising. Borghi has been one of the world’s most successful advertising executives after he almost stumbled into a marketing career at the behest of his sister; as he was set to enter higher education Jose Henrique Borghi was still struggling to find a career direction, which prompted his sister to bring him to an exhibition of different industries and companies. Instead of inspiring Jose to settle on a single area of business to undertake he found himself drawn to the marketing materials on offer and quickly settled upon a career in advertising.
After graduating from PUC Campinas, Jose Henrique Borghi decided to enter the advertising industry by taking up a career with the respected Standard Ogilvy ad agency as a writer; Borghi followed in the footsteps of many of the best known creatives in Brazilian advertising by starting his career at this swell known agency that has proven itself to be the breeding ground of many of the top marketing executives in the country. Beginning his career in 1989, by 2002 Jose Henrique Borghi was ready to strike out on his own and establish his own ad agency.
The birth of what was originally known as the BorghiEhr ad agency was not an easy one with only Jose Henrique Borghi and his business partner serving as every employee of the company. The hard work has obviously paid off for Borghi as the ad agency he founded that is now known as Mullen Lowe was ranked as the fourth largest in Brazil by 2015; now a globally recognized agency the success of Mullen Lowe has seen the company awarded at Cannes, New York, and the London film festivals and what Borghi knows.
