David Mcdonald Push For OSI Group to Have a Presence In China

OSI Group is an industry’s leader in supplying value-added protein such as sausage, pork eggs, chicken, beef and dehydrated onions. It is a food processing plant with over 20 years in operation since McDonald’s opened the first operational plant in Beijing, China. David McDonald, the OSI Group’s President, and Chief Operating Officer said the group had positioned itself strategically in the industry to have a global network.

Within the Chinese Economy alone, OSI Group has eight subsidiary locations that provide and supply the Baha foods to nationals. Two other branches are underway, and the monumental one is the mega food processor in Henan Province that it giving competitors a ran for their money. It is the largest meat consumer thanks to its high population that provides high demand and stimulates sales.

OSI Group has merged with DOYOO and came up with DaOSI predominantly focusing on poultry products processing. OSI continues to expand and grow in all ways thanks to favorable economy of China. During the past Olympic Games, OSI Group supplied 113 tons of food types to the population. Other than the retail consumer market, OSI Group supplies to McDonald’s, Burger King, Subway, Starbucks, Yum, Papa John’s and Saizeriya.
In superseding consumers’ expectation OSI Group has invested heavily in machinery to ensure food quality and safety at all time. In the farm, it monitors agricultural practices including how crops are grown. They have mastered the industry’s diversity and therefore processes food products that are natural/organic, tasty/healthy, affordable / premium based to serve all clientele.

About David McDonald

David McDonald is an alumnus of Iowa State University where he attained bachelors in Animal Science. Since then he has been working for OSI Group, a food processor based in Aurora, Illinois, United States. McDonald is the Chief Operating Officer and President of the OSI Group in China. This, however, did not come on a silver plate; he had tireless worked hard to merit the position.

Mr. McDonald began as a board member, then Director of the Australian based outlet and finally in present position. At one time he worked as a Managing Director for Marfrig Global Foods until it was acquired by OSI Group in 2008. Under his watch, OSI Group has undergone some structural and operational changes that have made its operations sustainable. First is the efficiency standard that any outlet has to operate with and in line. Second is the incorporation of Cryogenic food processing tech to detect microbial growth.
