Having sold their independent chain of newspapers a few years ago, Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey re-entered the newspaper business in 2017 with an online news site named Front Page Confidential. Many of the articles have to do with first amendment issues, especially the right to free speech and freedom of the press. A recent opinion piece on Front Page Confidential has to do with a new federal law which has sparked fears of online censorship on a grand scale. The federal law is about anti-prostitution efforts and the bill, HR. 1865, was passed by the United States Senate on a vote of 97 to 2 with one abstention. Critics of the bill say that the bill has very broad language and is unconstitutional as well as something that could put people in the sex industry at risk.
