A Brief Look into the Driving Career of Rodrigo Terpins

Rodrigo Terpins is a prominent name in the Brazilian world of sports. He competes in driving rallies across Brazil and is famous for his high achievements. His passion for sports is genetic – his family members have been or are active sports figures in the sporting fraternity of Brazil. For instance, Rodrigo’s father Jack Terpins is a retired basketball player who currently runs the Jewish Council for Latin America as the President. On the other hand, his brother Michael is a successful rally driver as well.

Being both decorated rally drivers, Rodrigo and his brother Michael formed a rally team known as the Tea Bull Sertoes. The team has been involved in at least five competitions since its foundation. The most significant rally participated by the Rodrigos is the T-Rex which was spearheaded by Motorsport’s MEM.

The Tea Bull Sertoes also participates in the Sertoes rally series. One of the recent participations involving Rodrigo Terpins was the 22nd Sertoes Rally edition. Rodrigo participated together with his partner Fabricio Manchiani, covering 2,600 Km. They both finished in the third position in the T1 prototypes category. Overall, they were in the eighth position beating thirty competitors who participated in the race.

Sertoes race is one of the biggest Brazilian races. The 22nd edition was an off-road event bringing together 38 teams. It as well attracted huge fan viewership and sponsoring activities. Despite gaining significant success, Rodrigo admitted that he wasn’t expecting such success since his team focus was to adapt to the rough off-road terrain. This shows the caliber of Rodrigo Terpins’ skills in racing.

Other than his sporting activities, Rodrigo Terpins holds several roles. He currently owns the T5 Participacoes Company which he founded in 2008. The company organizes racing events across Brazil. Check out Terra for more.

Before starting his company, Rodrigo had been the President of Lojas Marisa before vacating in 2007. He had joined the company in 1991 and rose through the ranks into the company’s top position. It was, indeed, his business management knowledge from the University of Sail Hilaire that made him a successful executive at Lojas Marisa. But he wanted to focus more on racing activities, inspiring the foundation of T5 Participacoes.
