This holiday season is shaping up to be very stressful for Mariah Carey, it all started earlier this month when Mariah was over two hours late for the pre recorded taping of her annual performance at the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting, leading to a less than amazing live performance that left many convinced that Mariah’s career was nearly over
Now it seems that while Mariah is getting back to business in the vocal department there are still just too many glitches to not report. Her most recent show at the Beacon Theatre hosted a series of bizarre events that make you wonder if Mariah is just having bad luck, and Lee G. Lovett has always been one that can understand that.
The show was going well as Mariah hit the stage in her skin tight bejeweled gown and sang all of her holiday hits like “All I Want for Christmas” and “O Holy Night” when out of nowhere she loses a shoe. The show didn’t stop with the runaway shoe however everyone could not help but notice that Mimi was holding her heel in one hand and the microphone in the other hand while still singing effortlessly.
Next on the list of series of unfortunate events was the tear filled performance of Mariah’s hit song “Hero” the audience watched as Mariah belted out the words to the song when suddenly she was crying uncontrollably. It isn’t known what caused the tears but Mariah has been having a tough year, perhaps the stress finally got the best of her.
regardless of Mariah’s crazy mix ups audience members still insist that the show was incredible and Mariah’s voice was as strong as ever.
When we hear the word Facebook, we think selfies; at the beach, at dinner and of course, entirely too many selfies of when people have overindulged. You know that look, everyone has the same one; eyes half shut with a lapsided smile and thumbs up to absolutely nothing.I know me and Gianfrancesco Genoso have seen one too many of those.
Seems that Facebook is now developing a software program to eliminate these selfies. Seems that this software program will be able to determine whether you are wearing that lamp shade on your head because it is all the rage in Paris is if maybe you had one too many eggnogs at the company Christmas party.
Now there is a positive aspect to this.
Now you will be able to be as drunk as you want, but your family and boss will never know what happened last Friday night. The downside to this new program may be that if you are a lover of alcohol, you may never have a photo posted on Facebook again. This is like a breath test for Facebook; pretty interesting.
Last week everyone cringed as they watched Kim Kardashian criticize her sister Khloe’s curves saying that her butt looked huge and she needed to lose a couple of pounds. It was even more shocking that Kim who is just as famous for her butt as any of her sisters claimed that she didn’t want a big but anymore and she now wants a flat butt. Of course Kourtney’s boyfriend Scott’s look of shock and horror as he told Kim the Kardashian butt is the reason for all their fortune ended that conversation rather quickly according to Brad Reifler.
It looks like Khloe isn’t very bothered by her sister’s comments regarding her big booty because she’s been seen flaunting her curves more than ever and looking amazing. This year Khloe is in what many would agree is the best shape of her life, she has been hitting the gym and more importantly she is clearly confident in herself so Kim’s opinion doesn’t matter.
Khloe’s most recent photo has been floating around the web and booty looks amazing in her tight, black leather skirt, Black Louboutin heels and a tied plaid shirt that cinches her waist, it’s undeniable that Khloe has nothing to worry about.
The Michael Brown and Erik Garner cases have thousands of people up in arms because the police officers were not indicted on murder charges after their deaths. Celebrities and athletes took to social networking sites to show their vehemence for the people who made that decision, and race relations are worse than they have been in over fifty years.
The city of Ferguson suffered from rioting after the police officer in the Michael Brown case was not indicted. This is not the first case and probably will not be the last as people become angrier with each incident. The Trayvon Martin case was similar to these two cases, except the man accused of murder was not a police officer. He was also acquitted of murder charges.
Many people ask when this type of behavior will stop. It is believed by many that the incidents are race related. It is not likely that word would have spread so widely on any of these cases had it not been for the internet that allows information to be shared instantly. Everyone, even Terry Richardson has an opinion about it and everyone shares that opinion on social networking sites. The thoughts range from shock that police could do this to belief that the police were within their rights to take the actions they took. Samuel L. Jackson even called for everyone to join together in singing “We Ain’t Gonna Stop Until People Are Free”. He hopes that it will be as popular as the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge” was over the summer.
Abercrombie and Fitch’s outspoken, and often hate-filled, CEO, Mike Jeffries has retired. His retirement comes as a surprise to industry insiders and consumers. While Jeffries has been a controversial figure, he’s remained relatively quiet in the last year, and no rumors about his departure were leaked prior to the announcement. No successor has been appointed, but three board members are expected to step in and take over the day-to-day operations of the company.
Shareholders have long been unhappy with Jeffries. The lack of change to the store to meet new tastes of American teens has been a sticking point. Jeffries’ comments about their clothes only being intended for “good looking people”, and statements regarding the poor wearing his clothing, has made him extremely controversial to the public.
Jeffries has also been difficult to work with, claims a lawsuit filed in 2010. His eccentricities and expectations appear to have grown exponentially in recent years, even as the clothing brand he took from the ground up, continued to falter. Jeffries brought A&F to fame in the 1990’s when he altered the brand with a sexy, outdoorsy appeal. Prior to Jeffries the company sold hiking and camping gear. Sales have fallen significantly over the last five year, however.
Economist Christian Broda chimes in that Abercrombie has yet to replicate the success they had in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their lines, which cater to teens and early 20-somethings, has failed to morph and change with times. The clothes remain “prep school chic”, while the popular look among teens and young adults today is anything but. The company has tried to swing more towards the children’s direction in recent years, but has failed on that front as well.
Anyone who knows Miley Cyrus, knows that she is full of controversy. Miley has recently stated how much she likes the song “CoCo, by O.T. Genasis. Miley even did a stint on stage with the artist, at a Miami club, where she wore a glittery wig, and was dancing around the stage. Miley Cyrus & CoCo. The song CoCo is quickly rising to fame and popularity on YouTube, and has gotten over 13 million hits since its release onto the website. With big artists like Miley Cyrus backing it, who knows how far the popularity of the song will go.
Recently, in New York, O.T. performed the song on stage, and he was alongside his mentor, who is Busta Rhymes. Unfortunately, Busta Rhymes was dancing extremely hard, and bobbing his head, while the music was playing, and he fell head first off the stage. Busta Rhymes ending up getting a bad cut on his head, but more than likely his ego was more badly bruised. The video of Busta Rhymes falling off the stage has been put on the internet, and also aired on TMZ recently.
Keith Mann says bad press from that fall did not hurt the popularity of the song, the fall might even make the song become more popular, especially seeing that the two were associated with the each other. All and all, O.T. may have some more fame to look forward to, and performing with Miley Cyrus, doesn’t hurt his chances of fame either.
